Round #5 at Cascade Locks

Entry
Form
In just two short years, the Cascade Locks Kart Grand Prix has
established itself as one of the best events of the year in the
karting world. If racing through a public park, on one of the most
exhilarating circuits ever put together, in front of thousands of
people, in one of the most gorgeous settings in the country sounds
like fun to you, then make plans now to attend this years event.
One of the keys to the success of the race is that it is an event,
not just another race.
The sleepy little town of Cascade Locks, located about 45 minutes
East of Downtown Portland Oregon, comes alive every summer for the
event. The hotels are packed, signs line main street welcoming racers
and city officials get involved, as competitors from all over the
Western US and Canada converge on this tiny little tourist town.
It is the biggest event of the year for the locals. And talk about
support, nearly double the town's population will stroll through
the park that weekend to catch a glimpse of the excitement.
One of the most unique things about the event is the setting itself.
The circuit lays nestled into a cozy little pocket of trees that
is surrounded by one of the most breathtaking natural beauties this
country has to offer, the Columbia River Gorge. It is truly no wonder
that the Gorge is Oregon's most visited spot. The circuit itself
is located in a city park on the banks of the mighty Columbia River.
Driving it will be one of the most challenging and hair-raising
experiences you will every experience as a racer. KartSport Magazine
scribe Bonnier Moulton called the track "30 seconds of pure
adrenaline." The track will challenge you like no other in
the country, and if you fail the test, you will pay the price. Get
it right though, and it is a memory you will never forget.
The entire weekend is packed with things to do. The park stays
buzzing with excitement and activity well into to the night, after
the karts have been retired for the day. Saturday night in the park
takes on a whole different feel, with a full blown BBQ for the racers
and their crews, and the opportunity to relive the day's activities
with both competitors and spectators. Hotels and restaurants are
within walking distance, so the entire town has that "paddock"
like feel. This experience is definitely one of a kind.
So what are you waiting for? Come experience an unforgettable trip
around the track, joining racers from all over the western states
who share your passion for racing, and experience some of the most
unbelievable scenery you have ever seen. Make your plans today to
be a part of this years most unique and unforgettable races
